J Tombes Consulting Rebrands, Launches Website

Midlothian, VA., August 31, 2015 — After five years in business, J Tombes Consulting has rebranded, incorporating as JT Consulting, LLC, and launched a website to highlight the firm’s technology writing services.

The editorial consulting business, a sole proprietorship founded by former trade journal editor Jonathan Tombes, opened in 2010. Apart from a quiet period of 18 months, when Tombes directed content marketing for a Software as a Service (SaaS) engineering firm, it has been in active operation. Over the past five years, dozens of companies have engaged Tombes to create white papers, articles and other marketing collateral to convey their value in competitive markets.

Tombes began the reorganization in July 2015, enlisting legal counsel and professional designers. The Virginia State Corporation Commission issued a certificate of organization for the limited liability corporation (LLC) on August 10, 2015, and the website went live in early September.

“These are big steps for a small company,” Tombes said. “Incorporating puts provides a more solid business footing, offers potential tax benefits and makes it easier to think about taking on partners down the road. As for the website, business now demands it. The website helps explain to my kids what I do for a living—though to really get their attention I may need to start snap-chatting.”

Assisting with the shift in business status was Bernard C. Dietz, PC and Tom Kozusko of CFO Certified Public Accountants. Website design was provided by Matt Keener, a former colleague at eComEngine, and his team at Keener Marketing Solutions. Trisha Ferris, of Studio1Graphics, designed the firm’s logo, and Jim Holmes provided photographic support.

A professional writer with previous experience in public policy research, Tombes has written for and about companies in the cable, satellite, media, Internet, e-commerce, wireless, SaaS, telecom, real estate, security and other industries. For more information, visit www.jtombes.com.
